Senior Transportation Planner / Project Manager

Position Overview: We will be hiring (2) Senior Transportation Planners/Project Managers who will lead and manage a variety of transportation planning projects with a focus on advancing equity, health, and sustainability. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, engaging with community stakeholders, and delivering high-quality, impactful projects. The position is fully remote but may require occasional travel throughout the US.


  • Lead transportation planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with the firm’s mission and vision.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research, program evaluation, and data analysis.
  • Develop and implement urban planning and design strategies that promote equity and sustainability.
  • Facilitate public outreach and engagement activities to gather community input and build support for projects.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and multimedia content to clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to clients on best practices in transportation planning.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Apply broad multi-disciplined knowledge of planning principles and techniques to tasks, using judgment to independently select and adapt methodologies to complex tasks.
  • Guide multi-discipline project teams to execute projects and prepare comprehensive project documents.
  • Mentor less experienced planners to ensure they are progressing in their professional development.
  • Serve as a role model and resource to others in terms of project management and technical expertise.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects and/or technical tasks, including large and complex projects with unique challenges.
  • Perform quality control reviews for work led by others to ensure high-quality outcomes.


  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation planning or a related field.
  • Credentials such as AICP, certified trainer, or LEED are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of equity, health, and sustainability issues in urban planning.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills.
  • Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement practices.
  • Experience with climate and/or housing issues is preferred.
  • Proficiency in GIS, data analysis, and other relevant software tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary range based on experience: $93.6k – $114k.
