Understanding Barriers to Bicycling in People for Bikes' Big Jump Cities
In collaboration with People for Bikes’ 10 Big Jump Cities (i.e., Austin, Baltimore, Fort Collins, Los Angeles, Memphis, New Orleans, New York City, Portland, Providence, and Tucson), this project will help build a base of knowledge to better understand the perceptions and desires related to bicycle use by local residents and business owners in each of the focus area. The use of focus groups and community surveys will be used to help articulate how diverse populations in the focus area view bicycling and what types of messaging and marketing might be useful in growing bicycle use. Specific attention to communities of color and female populations in the focus areas are of particular interest and will be a focus of this study. Client: People for Bikes.
