Bike Equity in DC
The report, Bike Equity: Strategies for Increasing Bicycle Ridership for Marginalized and Disadvantaged Communities, commissioned by the Washington Area Bicyclist Association for the D.C. Office of Planning’s Crossing the Street creative placemaking initiative, acknowledged the barriers to bicycling that marginalized groups face and provided national and international case studies of cities, organizations, and community groups leading initiatives to increase bicycle ridership among disadvantaged groups and achieve bike equity. Selected case studies that best reflected the bike equity movement both in terms of programs and a wide-range of geographical locations.
