The Arrested Mobility report developed by members of the Equitable City Team, Sam Kling, J’lin Rose, and Charles Brown made waves, inspiring the Virginia Bicycling Federation Advocacy Committee to examine the Virginia Code through an arrested mobility lens. This sparked a discussion in the Virginia General Assembly starting January 10. Collaborating with patrons, they’ve successfully introduced two bills—House Bill 1077 and House Bill 1266. These bills propose allowing cyclists to yield instead of stopping at certain intersections, a significant step towards safer and more efficient mobility. More updates on the bills here.
